The thing I like about the Honda cars is that
they don't need the electric portion to work. If
my Insight is at 200,000 miles & the battery or
motor cease functioning, it doesn't matter. The
Honda car can continue running as a "normal"
pure-gasoline car.
The Honda is also easy to fix. Since it's
basically a normal car, with a motor added, even
neighborhood garages can service it (change the
oil, change the timing belts, swap the sparks, et
cetera).
