RE: [Hybrid-Cars] Reliability of hybrids

The general nature of these groups does tend to lead to mostly complaints.
It is just the nature of people, not many will come to the groups just to
say that everything is going well. I would suggest you check out the Honda
oriented groups if you are thinking about a honda hybrid. This group really
doesn't get much activity at all.

That said...
We own a 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid and a 2001 Honda Insight (bought used one
year ago) and don't have any complaints about either one of them.
Tremendously reliable for us. Our 2003 HCH was just in for its 90k mile
service (at an independent shop) and everything is well with it, the Insight
was also in for 70k service (I know it isn't a regular interval, but I'm
going with 5k on the insight for ease of remembering. We go with the the
'normal' schedule for the HCH which is every 10k miles)

As with any model car, there are some of them that have problems and others
that have none.... Your mileage may vary :)

The thing I like about the Honda cars is that they don't need the electric portion to work. If my Insight is at 200,000 miles & the battery or motor cease...
